Claude Monet (1840-1926) was supposed to take care of the family business, meanwhile he became a painter of all time and went down in art history as the founder of Impressionism. Initially, he was successful doing caricatures, which was also a source of income for the artist. Later, his first teacher encouraged him to paint en plein air, and so a great passion was born. Over the course of his long life, Monet achieved critical and public acclaim and, after many financial crises, financial stability and even came to a considerable fortune. To this day, reproductions of Claude Monet's paintings are still extremely popular, and not only among art connoisseurs.
His works invariably captivate interior designers and amateur decorators. The only Monet painting in the Polish collection is "Beach in Pourville" - owned by the National Museum in Poznań.
